What this site collects

Is it Private Equity collects company search terms, generated ownership reports, source links, feedback messages, page paths visited, referrers, and anonymous visitor identifiers. We hash user-agent and rate-limit signals where they are used for abuse prevention.

How searches are used

Company lookups may be sent to configured research providers such as OpenAI, Google Gemini, Anthropic, or OpenRouter so the app can research ownership and return sourced results. Saved company reports can become public, indexable pages so future visitors can reuse cached research.

Cookies and analytics

The site uses a first-party visitor cookie to count visits, estimate usage, rate-limit abuse, and show owner dashboard statistics. When ads are enabled, Google AdSense may use cookies and similar technologies to serve, measure, and personalize ads according to Google policies.

Feedback

If you send feedback, the message, optional company context, page path, anonymous visitor ID, and hashed user-agent signal are stored so the site owner can review and improve the app.

Donations

Donations are handled by a third-party payment provider such as Stripe. Payment details are entered on that provider's site and are not stored by Is it Private Equity.

Data sharing

We do not sell personal information. Data is shared with service providers only as needed to run hosting, database storage, analytics, research, advertising, abuse prevention, and donation processing.
